As we continue our coverage of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration—running now through spring 2023—we’re pleased to share the inside scoop on the dining component of the event. Here are our picks for the best bites and beverages at the various parks offered exclusively during this special occasion.
Savory Bites
You’ll find treats both savory and sweet available throughout the Disney complex during the anniversary celebration—Disney chefs have developed 150 unique culinary creations in all! At Magic Kingdom, tuck into Walt’s Chili-Cheese Dog for a bite of nostalgia or try out the chicken fried steak at the Crystal Palace. At Animal Kingdom, cheese fries with Walt’s chili are featured as well as Walt’s chili on a foot-long hot dog. Continuing our savory feast down the street, the Hollywood Studios’ Brown Derby restaurant offers a Walt favorite: filet mignon with hash, topped with an egg.
Refreshing Beverages
Toast to fifty years of family fun with the Royal 50th Celebration flight of Enchantee Champagne at Cinderella’s Royal Table at the Magic Kingdom or the Shimmer Over the Moon cocktail at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (served with a souvenir glowing ice cube). A spirit-free way to mark the occasion is with the EARidescent Firefly mocktail at Animal Kingdom or with a refillable 50th-anniversary mug at Typhoon Lagoon’s Leaning Palms, Typhoon Tilly’s, or Snack Shack concessions.
Sweet Treats
The sweet treats at this celebration are hard to beat and the menu is extensive! At Epcot, you’ll find a decadent chocolate pyramid filled with mousse and an EARidescent croissant doughnut. The Glimmer and Shimmer Blondie dessert is available at Hollywood Studios as is the Glimmer and Shimmer pineapple mousse. And, at Magic Kingdom, you’ll find firehouse doughnuts, the Happy Haunts milkshake (topped with a purple-glazed doughnut!), and the Mickey Mouse Dome Cake are all delectable choices. Over at Animal Kingdom, featured treats include the 50th Celebration Ice Cream Sandwich, which is composed of tasty chocolate chip cookies and topped with a 50th-anniversary chocolate medallion, and the hand-dipped 50th Celebration Mickey Premium Bar. Even Typhoon Lagoon gets in on the sweet-treat action with its white-chocolate-dipped EARidescent Ice Dream Cone. You can even bring home a few sweet souvenirs by checking out the special anniversary offerings available for purchase at Amorette’s Patisserie, Frontera Cocina, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, and others, located at Disney Springs.
